4 Easy Ways to Lose Weight For Your Holiday Without Crash Dieting

First of all let me say how jealous I am that you are going on holiday! Whether it be a sun-filled beach holiday or a city break, isn't it great to step away from your usual day-to-day life and take time to relax and see the sights?

There may be one thing in the back of your mind, nagging at you. What if I'm too fat to wear a bathing suit/swim shorts? Or will I get out of breath and sweat walking around tourist attractions? Will people laugh at me and judge me?

I understand only too well as I used to be roughly 100lbs overweight, albeit I “carried the weight well” as people used to say. Going to the beach was a nightmare for me as I worried about my cellulite and belly making people disgusted and imagined them pointing and laughing to their friends.

In reality, hardly anyone so much as glanced my way and I noticed there were people who probably weighed more than me laughing and enjoying themselves without a hint of self-consciousness.

Cut Down on Calories

The easiest and most basic tip I can give you is to cut down on the number of calories you eat every day. This is something you can track using an app like My fitness pal (I recommend the free version) or simple pen and paper depending on what you prefer.

If you cut down 500 calories every day from the daily recommended amount which is 2000 for women and 2500 for men, then you will lose 1 pound a week. If you want to lose more than this then cut down more calories, but I suggest you do not eat less than 1,000 a day as your body needs a certain amount of calories in order to carry out basic functions and you don't want to end up feeling tired and hungry.

Try a Body Wrap

I wouldn't normally suggest this tip because it isn't body fat you are losing with a wrap, it is water, but if you are leaving in a matter of days then it may be a good idea.

Personally, I have tried cheap body wraps bought from eBay and found they do cause your body to sweat away some water weight which temporarily can give you a slimmer waist. Just remember that as easily as it comes off, it will come back again as soon as you have had a few cocktails on holiday.

Eat Lots of Protein

bowl of eggsOne of the most challenging aspects of losing weight is overcoming hunger. A “bad” day for me usually goes like this: Bowl of cereal for breakfast, toast for lunch, a calorie laden energy drink to try and wake me up, then it all goes wrong because I feel so hungry!

The reason being I didn't make use of protein filled meals to stop me from getting the dreaded hunger pangs. That means including foods like eggs, lean meats, tofu or meat substitutes for vegetarians.

Get creative with protein and you will find that pre-dinner slump where we are most likely to snack becomes easier to resist.

Choose a supplement

Diet pills get a bad rep because of high profile cases where people have become unwell after taking them. You might even be against taking them altogether. I would suggest you reconsider because if you pick a supplement that is:
