Losing Motivation for Weight Loss? Encouragement and Tips for Losing Weight

If you have been losing weight but suddenly find yourself losing motivation for weight loss, there are steps you can take to regain that motivation. Staying on track is one of the hardest aspects of going on a diet and exercise regime.

If you want to succeed, you should use this guide for encouragement and take the tips on board to help keep your inspiration topped up.

Put a Photo of You on Your Fridge

You may have heard this tip before, but perhaps not with this slant. I don't want you to put a “fat” picture on your refrigerator, or somewhere highly visible. Instead it is better to put a picture of you looking completely happy and content, perhaps when you were thinner. This will give you a positive focus instead of a negative one.

Choose a Goal Outfit

Rewards shouldn't really be food based. Therefore it's not a good idea to think to yourself “I'll have a take-out after I lose 30 pounds” and instead focus on things that don't involve food like fitting into a smaller sized outfit.

A great example for women is choosing a pair of skinny jeans in a size smaller that you are going to fit in. You don't have to buy the item(s) now, but just imagining having a smaller waistline that allows you to fit into clothes you've dreamed of wearing can do wonders for your motivation levels.

Count Your Achievements

Once again, I want you to focus on the positive aspects of losing weight. When I was losing weight I kept a simple journal type notepad celebrating small achievements. It wasn't anything fancy but it really helped keep me on track. The type of things you should note down are:

  1. do not give upI went for a walk
  2. I exercised at the gym
  3. I stayed under my calorie goal today
  4. I avoided soda today
    and so on…

It's totally up to you what you keep track of because you will have certain things that are important to you. It is important that the small goals on the list are achievable and don't overwhelm yourself by noting down too many.

Say Something Positive About You

When I was overweight I couldn't look in the mirror and be happy with my reflection. I felt fat and ugly. What made a change for me was when I tried writing down 5 positive things about myself. My list included aspects like “I often get complimented on my large, brown eyes”. Other things you might like to jot down about yourself could be having great organizational skills, a wicked sense of humor, your caring nature etc.

If you can’t think of anything positive then ask family members or close friends for their opinion. There is a reason that they like you and want to be around you, so find out and add them to your list.

Keep the list and read it daily. It will become like a mantra that you can look at first thing in the morning to get your mindset going in a positive direction. Why does this matter for weight loss? Well you will be more likely to get up and go to the gym if you are feeling generally positive and content than otherwise.

Extra Help for Losing Motivation for Weight Loss

When you are losing motivation for weight loss the above tasks will help you on your way to a positive mindset and feeling inspired once again. However, if you need a little extra help with things like willpower, there is no harm in adding a safe and effective diet pill into the mix.

I recommend PhenQ as the best fat burner on the market because it has an added effect of making you feel less hungry, which means you can avoid temptation easier. It is made by a trusted company in an FDA approved facility so you know you are getting a safe and quality product.
