If you have arrived here, then chances are you have a specific weight loss goal in mind: You want to lose 2 stone (28 lbs) and you want to do it FAST! At the same time you don't want to be miserable on a starvation diet that will see you going without treats and the food you enjoy.
I am here to reassure you that this is entirely possible. If you lose weight at a sensible rate of 2lbs a week then in four months time you will have beaten your target weight, all without going hungry and sacrificing foods you love or slaving away at the gym every day.
If you kick things up a notch and aim to lose 3 lbs per week, before you know it 2 and a half months will have passed and you will have met your goal. It's amazing how much difference that extra pound a week makes.
Let's get started with the plan you are going to follow, first by looking at what you are going to eat.
Dieting For Fast Weight Loss
I'm going to suggest something controversial: pick any diet you want. Whether it's Paleo, low-fat, low-carb, or even the “Sleeping Beauty” diet, they all involve the same basic principle: Less calories in and more calories out equals weight loss.
The reason why I don't suggest a specific diet is because I believe in the basics of weight loss. They helped me lose 2 stone in 3 months (I picked the worst time of year as well, dieting over the festive season).
You probably don't need me to tell you that if you eat less calories than you normally do, then you are going to lose weight.
You need to eat 500 calories less every day in order to lose a pound of fat in a week. In practice, weight loss is fickle and varies. Some weeks you will inexplicably lose 4 lbs even though you ate a huge sundae when out with your friends. Other weeks you will put on a pound even though you know you stuck to your diet 100%.
Such is life. But it all evens out in the end.
What I'm trying to say is don't give up if you have setbacks. Stay consistent and keep yourself accountable by telling friends and family that you are dieting so they can support you (and if they don't support you then remember it is they who will be jealous when you reach your goal weight).
Try a free calorie tracking app like MyFitnessPal which you can use online on a desktop computer or download an app to use on your phone.
Not technical? Get a notepad and pen and prepare to do some quick sums to total up calories.
Stick with it, don't let anyone or anything get in your way, and before you know it you will be a few months down the line and will have lost 2 stone of weight that you were lugging about with you.
Next we are going to add exercise to really rev up your metabolism and make weight loss that much easier.
Exercise Your Way To a Thinner Body
If you are an absolute beginner to weight loss, in that you do no exercise currently, then I'm going to suggest walking and swimming as the easiest ways of squeezing some exercise into your routine. This is because they are so easy to do!
You don't need any fancy equipment (I don't think a swimming costume or shorts counts as fancy) and these types of exercise are easy on your joints but burn a significant amount of calories.
Walking can actually be fun if you make an event out of it. You could take your children (if you have them) on a nature walk and point out different animals and types of trees. Or take a long walk in a park to clear your head and relieve stress.
For those who already exercise regularly, say 2-3 times a week, you might find stepping up what you are currently doing will do the trick for giving your metabolism a kick-start. Whether that means adding an extra day at the gym, or working out for an hour instead of 30 mins at a time is up to you. This plan is flexible to fit around your daily routine.
Obviously there are variables that come into play. For example, if you weight 10 stone you are going to need to try that bit harder during your workouts in order to burn off the same amount of calories that you would if you weighed 20 stone.
After exercising regularly for a few months, you won't just lose weight, you will be fitter and stronger and daily activities like walking up a few flights of stairs will be easier and you will be less out of breath.
Using Safe Diet Pills to Lose Weight Quickly
You can get a significant extra weight loss boost by using safe and effective diet pills. I emphasize safety because I know there are lots of dangerous diet pills out there from Ephedrine to Phentermine and beyond.
Thankfully the truth is that for every dangerous diet pill there are 10 safer diet pills. It still pays to be cautious though, and I can understand if you are hesitant to try a diet pill, or if you have tried supplements in the past that didn't work.
