Do I Need To Detoxify Before Losing Weight?

You might notice that people over-complicate things in life. For instance, it's not simple enough to embark on a weight loss plan without first detoxing your body, or so some fitness coaches would have you think.

There are a huge number of ways to carry out a detox from laxative teas to “magical” patches that “draw out impurities” through your feet. And loads of people jump on these products in a desperate bid to get their body properly detoxified so they are ready to lose weight.

Does detoxing work?

Unfortunately there is no scientific evidence that detoxing actually works to carry out the claims made by some so called experts. Nor is there evidence that it is even needed.

Your liver is an amazing organ who's job is to filter out toxins from your body and get rid of them safely. Give it a break by avoiding too much alcohol or processed foods and you will have a liver that is in tip top condition.

So how do you lose weight without needing to go through a detox? Simple diet and exercise changes will be enough.

Detoxing is not invited to the weight loss table.

Eat healthier

If you really want to clean out your body, it's time to eat better to give your liver and kidneys the fuel and break they need to filter out toxins naturally.

This means binning the takeouts and highly processed foods like white bread and flour. Replace them with whole-grains. Make the change and your body will thank you for it.

Drink water

Fill up a water bottle and sip from it throughout the day. This will help those metabolic processes within your body.

Exercising to the point of sweating a lot lets toxins escape from your skin's surface. The added bonus of sweating loads is that you can improve any acne you might have, as it helps spot causing toxins to escape. Just make sure you shower after exercise.

Try juicing

detox waterMake tasty juices out of green vegetables like cucumbers and kale etc. They are full of antioxidants and the nutrients your body needs in order to lose weight effectively.

Did you watch the TV documentary “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead”?

The person who hosted the show, Joe Cross, was an overweight guy who felt generally unwell. He started replacing meals with juiced fruit and vegetables.

In only a few months he lost those extra pounds and felt so much healthier and better.

Now I'm not saying you should cut out food and only drink cucumber juice for months at a time. What I am suggesting is that if you make small changes and substitutions, you can and will turn your body into a fat burning machine, working to it's full potential.

  • Eat well

One rule to live by is that every time you put something into your body, you are either feeding or fighting disease. Which do you choose?

  • Exercise well

By exercising regularly and building up a sweat, not only will you gain strength and endurance, you will also gain lean muscle which boosts your metabolism and helps weight loss.

  • Get help

Diet pills and supplements get a bad name because some have no basis in scientific reality. However, there are proven supplements like PhenQ that can give you a helping hand to stick to a diet, give you energy to exercise, and help you to burn off fat even while resting.
