We have very strict criteria for evaluating diet pills. A few of these are safety, proven ingredients and positive customer reviews. Because the diet pill called Phentaslim is becoming increasingly popular we decided to judge it against these criteria to see if it meets the standard for us to recommend it as a top diet pill.
What is Phentaslim
Phentaslim is a fat burner made by Optimum Nutra and is a type of diet pill that acts as a stimulant which has an effect on your central nervous system to speed up heart rate and raise blood pressure with the view to boosting your metabolism.
It appears you can only buy it online, which is perfectly acceptable as not all manufacturers want to go down the route of supplying offline stores.
It is sold in bottles of 90 which lasts a month and suggests you take three a day. Payment is secure via major cards or PayPal and there is a money back guarantee which involves a £10 admin fee being deducted from your refund.
Unfortunately Phentaslim's downfall is in what ingredients each pill actually contains:
- Caffeine – A fat burner standard. Nothing exciting here.
- Green Tea – Is thought to boost the metabolism by a minor amount
- L-Carnitine – Thought to protect lean muscle
- Guarana – Another stimulant
- Various B vitamins – Claims are made ranging from mood boosting effect to helping digestion
- Gelatin – Makes this capsule not suitable for vegetarians or vegans
To be honest I think that the ingredients are uninspiring, cheap ingredients bundled together in one pill. I'm not saying that Phentaslim is useless, it should theoretically work to some degree with the amount of stimulants in it. What I am saying is that there are better options out there, which we will cover below.
Because it contains a lot of stimulants you could expect to see the following side effects:
- Digestive problems
- Insomnia (they recommend not taking after 3pm for this reason)
Does it Work?
The official website has loads of positive testimonials, but we take our job to dig deeper seriously. We found the following comments posted across the internet:
“I’m sorry to say I have decided not to take them as I feel too spaced out and jittery on them.”
“I took this yesterday just before 6PM and I literally could not sleep.”
” I feel more energy. But since couple of days I am feeling dizziness and heavy head after consuming the medicine. The headache is quite a lot”
and more are out there. It seems that while Phentaslim seems to have a reasonable fat burning ability, it causes too many side effects for us to rate it as our top fat burner.
Is There a Better Alternative?
Our top rated fat burner has remained the same for many years, it isn't a new fad and it has proven itself time and time again for real weight loss results. It is called PhenQ and it is a well established product by a renowned manufacturer.
It is a fat burner so it contains a few stimulants, but people don't seem to be complaining about side effects as much as with Phentaslim. It works to boost your metabolism and natural fat burning ability by a carefully selected blend of premium ingredients, and is manufactured in the USA.
